Rebekah- thank you so, so much for what you have done for me. I really don’t know how I would have survived this far if it hadn’t been for your guidance, listening ear and always comforting presence.

Thank you so much for helping me through this process of change, I have really valued our conversations and I really do feel like they have helped form new habits and challenge previous thinking. I felt I was in a bad way arriving but really do have confidence leaving, and that’s testament to our sessions, so thank you ever so much.

Dr Honey’s expertise in schema therapy is particularly useful to people who, like me, seek an evidence-based and accessible way to understand their own negative thinking patterns and distorted perception of the world. Dr Honey’s warmth, openness, humility and partnership approach to addressing issues as well as her ability to make me feel seen and heard as I really am have enabled me to finally break negative patterns of thinking and feel confident to move on with my life with optimism that I will continue to heal and grow.

FAQs
How do I make an appointment?
Get in touch with me via the contact form
What happens in the first appointment?
We will meet for an initial assessment lasting 50 minutes. This will give you the chance to talk about your difficulties and what you are looking for. We will think together about an approach that will work for you and come up with a plan for therapy. If the outcome of the assessment is that therapy could be helpful for you, you will have the option to take up further sessions with me. It is your choice whether to accept therapy or not and you will not be under any pressure to continue if you do not think it is right for you.
Are our sessions completely confidential?
Yes, anything you say is kept within the safety of our environment. There are two situations in which it may be necessary for me to breach your confidentiality. One is if I believe you to be at risk of harming yourself or someone else. The other is if I find myself uncertain with some aspect of our work together, I may wish to discuss this aspect with my colleagues, in supervision. In the former situation, I would first encourage you to speak to you doctor, in the latter I would always take care not to reveal details that may identify you.
How much do the sessions cost and how is payment made?
How many sessions will I need?
The number of sessions that you may need will depend on the issues you need to discuss and resolve. Some people have short-term interventions of 8-12 sessions whereas other people need longer to address their difficulties and explore underlying issues. We will regularly review this together in therapy.
It seems very expensive compared to counselling, why is this?
Clinical Psychologists are highly trained mental health professionals. The basic training takes around 9 years and then there are additional qualifications on top of this. We are trained to offer evidence-based treatments so that you will be receiving therapy which has been shown to provide effective outcomes for the difficulties you are experiencing.
Where will the sessions be held?
I offer in person and remote sessions. I have rooms between Balham Tube station and Tooting Bec Tube station on Balham High Road. Online sessions are also available if you would prefer.
